BSW Field Profiles 2020-21

BSW Jaguar Altine 2020 Agency Name: Co - County Wellness Services Profile: They assist the public through educational outlets & advocacy for the Berks & Schuylkill area. They offer free case management, HIV medication education; HIV & STD Counseling & Testing; prevention interventions & teen pregnancy prevention called Berks Teens Matter. They work with people who need help with HIV/STI. They're also focusing on contacting those who've possibly been exposed to COVID - 19. Field Placement Responsibilities: As a contact tracer our responsibility is to call contacts of diagnosed patients. We work with the PA Department of Public Health database to collect and record information on the status of the contacts symptoms into Sara Alert and SharePoint. We educate them on COVID - 19, refer them for testing according to CDC protocols in their local communities, and provide them with instructions on how to quarantine. We are required to follow policies and procedures by CCWS. We practice confidentiality with PA Department of Public Health training. Future Goals: I want to achieve my MSW, but I don ’ t plan on going right after my BSW. I want to serve young adults struggling with mental health and addiction and hopefully locate a job out of state. Department of Social Work
