BSW Field Profiles 2019-20

BSW Sarah Cattin 2019 Agency Name: Kutztown Strong Profile: The mission and purpose of Kutztown Strong is To Combat Substance Abuse for the Well-Being of the Kutztown Community with a vision to strengthen the resolve of the next generation. Kutztown Strong was established in 2014 when the community experienced losses related directly to opioid addiction. Kutztown Strong runs programs and activities that are accessible to those in the community, grades K-16. Field Placement Responsibilities: Some responsibilities I have within Kutztown Strong is to work closely with teachers in Kutztown Middle School to work on their Cougar Chronicle project, a student run magazine. I also am helping families of the Early Learning Community connect with Food Inc., to access resources to those that are in need. I attend board and coalition meetings to further my knowledge on what is happening within the agency and in the Kutztown Community. Future Goals: My future goals are to graduate with my BSW, obtain my MSW, and help change the lives of juveniles. Department of Social Work
