BSW Field Profiles 2019-20

BSW Emily Carmichael 2019 Agency Name: Kutztown University Multicultural Center Profile: Kutztown University Multicultural Center is an office dedicated to serving diverse students by further improving their academic goals, mindset and cultural competence. The center's purpose focuses on providing students with everyday activities and interactions that celebrate all cultures. Field Placement Responsibilities: My role at the Multicultural Center is to assist with supervising and planning some of the many services that the center offers. I do case work for one of their services called the Granted Access Project mentor program to make certain that the mentors are actively communicating and meeting with their mentees. I also help the other staff by providing ideas, contributing to discussion, attending meetings, greeting visitors and other professional activities relating to the center. Future Goals: After graduating with my BSW I plan on immediately continuing my education to earn my MSW. I would then like to work on the mezzo level with groups and families.
