BSW Field Profiles 2019-20

BSW Marcos Vazquez 2019 Agency Name: PATHS Edison Court Profile: PATHS is a community-based group treatment home that accommodates up to 8 boys between the ages of 10 and 15 who have exhibited sexually problematic behaviors. They provide these children with therapeutic intervention programs, focusing on changing their behaviors, developing safety plans to deal with sexual impulses, understanding the cycle of abuse, and developing healthier coping mechanisms. Field Placement Responsibilities: My role at PATHS is to shadow the staff as they monitor the children during their daily activities such as homework, cooking, chores, and also sit in on some group counseling sessions. Future Goals: My future goals are to work with children in an urban setting, to be a positive role model and provide themwith life changing opportunities that they might view as unrealistic or impossible.
