BSW Field Profiles 2019-20

BSW Ana Tuzio 2019 Agency Name: CONCERN Professionals - Fleetwood Profile: CONCERN is a multi-service private non-profit human services organization dedicated to providing child welfare, juvenile justice, and behavioral health services to children and their families. CONCERN aims to bring hope, offer opportunities, and inspire change in the community and they strive to be at the forefront of innovative programs to meet the individual needs of the child. Field Placement Responsibilities: My field responsibilities at CONCERN are based within the recruitment office. My responsibilities fall into two general categories of recruitment and approval. I work alongside my task supervisor and field instructor in brainstorming initiatives to recruit families in Berks County through different informational meetings and advertising events. Following the initial recruitment, I also assist in the process of getting these newly recruited families approved as foster parents for CONCERN. Our office looks at many different aspects of potential foster parents such as medical history or financial records to determine if their qualities would match the needs of individual children our agency serves. Future Goals: In the future, I hope to graduate with my BSW and earn my MSW as well. I hope to build on the connections made through networking opportunities and begin a career in international/domestic adoption. Department of Social Work
