BSW Field Profiles 2019-20

BSW Rachel Smith 2019 Agency Name: Friend Inc. Profile: Friend Inc. is a non-profit agency that supports families and individuals in the Northeastern Berks County region. Due to the agency being a multi-service agency they can provide more services such as, client-choice food pantry, KutztownUniversity Satellite Pantry, information and referrals, budget counseling, financial crisis intervention, and facilitates partnerships with other local service providers. Field Placement Responsibilities: As an intern I am responsible for conducting over the phone prescreening, assess the needs of clients through the intake process, determine a service plan, advocate for the needs of the clients, and maintain records and file. Future Goals: My main goal is to be able to communicatewith clients with a higher level of confidence. My other goal is be accepted into a masters programonce I graduate. Department of Social Work
