BSW Ashleigh Mills 2019 Agency Name: Berks County Area Agency on Aging Profile: The Berks County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) advocates for the rights and independence of the age 60 plus population and their caregivers. AAA provides the highest quality assessment to determine strengths and needs for each individual consumer. AAA will assist consumers in the acquisition of required services based on needs and the consumers own self-determination. Field Placement Responsibilities: The Berks County Area Agency on Aging field placement aims to provide an eclectic experience to foster future professional growth. A generalist practice approach is implemented to ensure field placement interns will experience all AAA has to offer. Emphasis on resource familiarity and professional networking is strongly embedded. Adherence to the planned change process is also fostered with intern insertion within various departments responsible for engagement, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Lastly, AAA encourages engagement with diversity by including interns in outreach with individuals, communities, and organization. Future Goals: Acquire a Master's degree in Social Work to foster my professional aspirations of working within a clinical setting. Department of Social Work
