BSW Field Profiles 2019-20

BSW Paige Krahling 2019 Agency Name: Service Assess Management Profile: Service Assess Management provides case management and service coordination to individuals with intellectual disabilities or mental health needs, throughout the state of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The specific branch of the agency I am interning at focuses on doing case management fo r individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. Field Placement Responsibilities: One of my field placement responsibilities is to operate Microsoft Access to expand upon the available community resources to allow other facility members to broker clients. I visit and compare various day programs in the Allentown area to determine if they are meeting the needs of the clients. I also observe my task supervisor as she interacts with the clients during home visits. Another responsibility relates to becoming acclimated with SAM training and policy procedures that are required to work with this population. Future Goals: I want to work with individuals with intellectual disabilities. I am still exploring exactly what I want to do after graduation. I also have an interest in being a therapist for individuals who are Deaf. Department of Social Work
