BSW Field Profiles 2019-20

BSW Marissa Finelli 2019 Agency Name: Reading School District, Reading Knights Accelerated Academy Profile: Reading School District, Reading Knights Accelerated Academy (RKAA) is a high school for students who have been held back and are in need of credits in order to graduate from high school. Once they reached enough credits for the level of education they are at, they are able to be transferred back to the Reading High School or have the option to finish at RKAA and graduate there. Field Placement Responsibilities: Many students that attend this school are struggling with living in poverty, teen pregnancy, family issues, etc. My responsibilities are to observe the school social worker on how she interacts with the students and how to talk to themwhen one is in need of help. Later on in my placement I will be able to actually talk to the students and be able to help themmyself. Future Goals: In the future, I plan to get my Masters in social work and be able to work in either an elementary or high school as a school social worker. Department of Social Work
