BSW Field Profiles 2019-20

BSW Brittany Fields 2019 Agency Name: Hope Rescue Mission Profile: Hope Rescue Mission (HRM) is located in Reading and is a homeless shelter for men. They offer four residential programs, and also case management services where Social Workers broker residents to additional resources outside of HRM. Their main focus is to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support while residents transition back into the community. Field Placement Responsibilities: In this field assignment I will be observing case management services. With supervision, I will have the opportunity to work one-on-one to assist residents in creating exit plans for leaving the shelter. I will be connect theories from previous social work courses to my field experiences and identify social work roles and skills, as well as offering support with any other case management services. Review and discuss agency policy in addition to seeking supervision. Monitor agency relationships and connect with other agencies and other professionals to better service clients, such as the Berks Coalition to End Homelessness. Other dynamics of social work will be used such as substance abuse and mental health. Performing self -reflect, Identifying and discussing personal biases. Future Goals: After graduation, my goal is to have in a career in the field of social work where I can excel as well as further my education. Department of Social Work
