BSW Field Profiles 2018-19

BSW Floyd Snyder 2018-2019 Agency Name: Lehigh Valley Adult Services Profile: The agency focuses on delivering compassionate yet competent care for their clients. Specializing in adults with cognitive disabilities such as Alzheimer's and dementia, they offer both mental and physical stimulation by providing a variety of in facility therapy options such as physical and speech as well as offering activities including BINGO, coloring, trivia games as well as other activities. Field Placement Responsibilities: My responsibilities include assisting with breakfast, lunch and snack time. This includes distribution, applying protective cloth, monitoring and cleaning up. I also participate in various group activities such as BINGO, various games involving different balls and balloons, and asking different trivia questions or reading various material to them. My roles and interactions vary between mezzo interactions with organized activity as well as engaging in micro-interactions throughout the day. I also must organize various documents as well as file different files under different profiles. This is laying the foundation for participating in tasks that I currently observe such as medicine distribution, toileting, and signing clients in and out. Future Goals: Though I do not have any specific goals in mind, I plan on working hands-on with clients for a period of time in order to gain experience then possibly transition to the macro level.
