BSW Field Profiles 2018-19

BSW Mia Dunn 2018-2019 Agency Name: Kutztown Strong Profile: Kutztown Strong is in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. Kutztown Strong is a community-based non-profit organization that aims to combat and prevent substance abuse for the well-being of the community. They use a proactive approach by creating events and developing programs for the youth and their families. Field Placement Responsibilities: My role at Kutztown Strong is to serve as an aid in the classroom at the Early Learning Center preschool. I also attend weekly meetings for the Kutztown Strong clubs at the Kutztown Area Middle School and High School. Additionally, I participate and play a role in monthly board meetings and coalition meetings to uphold the organization. As an administrative assistant, I will also be helping to promote their web presence and create their policies. Future Goals: When I graduate with my BSW, I would like to go into macro practice. With macro practice, I will be able to participate at every level of practice. I love the idea that I can create change on a large scale. Department of Social Work
