New Student Orientation Booklet

The Rohrbach Library staff is available to help students with a wide variety of research related services. Our research services desk even provides students with one-on-one research consultations with librarians all semester long! RL staff are also responsible for administering programs of library orientation and instruction across many disciplines. Not able to make it to the library to meet in person? Interlibrary Loans is a free, no cost service to the KU community that makes every attempt to obtain books, articles, DVDs, and more not owned by Rohrbach Library. Articles and book chapters can arrive in less than 24 hours and books typically arrive within 2 to 5 business days! Rohrbach also houses other important units that include STEAMworks, CMC (Curriculum Materials Center), CASA (Center for Academic Success and Achievement), Tutoring, the Writing Center, and Archives. • STEAMworks - Located on the ground floor RL18, learn how to use new technologies, attend workshops and events, and get inspired! • CMC - Located on the ground floor, find teacher resources (textbooks, activity books, lesson ideas, teaching posters, & kits), and find children’s literature. • CASA - Located on the ground floor, receive one-on-one academic support, meet with Student Success Coordinators, and find personalized resources. • Tutoring Center - Located on the ground floor, be matched with one-on-one peer tutors and academic coaches. • Writing Center - Located on the first floor, get help with more than just papers! Brainstorm ideas and topics, organize your research, amplify your voice and style, and get help with citations: MLA, APA and more! • Archives - Located on the second floor, learn about KU history, find yearbooks, use the high speed book scanner, and see historical and educational exhibits.
