Hazardous Waste Management There are two main components to the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) fire safety program:  Fire protection systems- maintenance and inspection of the campus fire extinguishers, fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems, and sprinkler systems  Fire safety/prevention programs Industrial Hygiene Services State and federal regulations govern the disposal of hazardous materials and wastes. Facilities EHS manages the campus program necessary to properly dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with these regulations. If you have questions regarding KU’s hazardous waste management program, please contact the Work Control Center at x31594 and we will gladly identify a representative to assist you. EHS and professional Industrial Hygiene consultants assist the University community in minimizing the hazards associated with lead based paint, compliance for OSHA general industry and con- struction regulations, indoor air quality concerns, respiratory pro- tection, noise, and other health and safety concerns.
