FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIPS Finances shouldn’t limit your ability to learn. That’s why 80% of our students receive financial aid. We offer more than 500 awards based on a variety of criteria, and provide you with numerous scholarships, grants, loans, and campus employment opportunities to make a quality education within reach. KU offers merit scholarships ranging from $1,000 to full tuition. We also offer an Honors Program and STEM scholarships, and a 40% out-of-state tuition reduction for new, qualifying students. The priority deadline for consi- deration for full tuition scholarships is December 1. Students who are unable to submit an SAT or ACT score will still be considered for merit scholarships. Should stu- dents sit for an exam, score will be accepted throughout the year to potentially increase the amount of the merit award received.
